About me

Thank you so much for visiting! My name is Stephanie and I'm a wedding harpist based in Hull, Yorkshire. I've been performing at weddings and events for over 10 years, it's a huge honour and I love doing it.

As a graduate of the acclaimed Royal Northern College of Music, I have a passion for performing music to the highest standard. I travel across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

I will work with you directly to create the perfect package for your day and help select a bespoke playlist that reflects you as a couple. I can also arrange a special request, making your day personal to you. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and happy to chat about the ceremony and how you'd like to make your entrance.

Your Day

The harp creates a magical atmosphere from the moment your guests arrive. Its remarkable appearance and enchanting sound is the perfect addition to your ceremony, drink's reception, or wedding breakfast.

My repertoire includes pop, classical, Disney, film, game themes, traditional and songs from musicals. Having arranged and transcribed nearly all my repertoire, the music you will hear is utterly unique. I also arrange music specifically for the aisle entrance to ensure the perfect timing for when you walk down the aisle.

Songs

Ceremony Songs

For a standard registry ceremony, I recommend you choose a song for the aisle, two for the register and one for the exit. This may differ for religious or celebrant ceremonies. I’d recommend picking 10 songs for the arrival of guests.

For LGBTQ+ ceremonies, some couples like to have their own separate entrances, or walk down together. I'm happy to chat about your ceremony and how to make it reflect you, just let me know in an email or we can chat on the phone.

How many songs should I choose?

For background music, some people like to choose specific songs, others are happy for a mix of popular harp covers. It’s completely up to you! If you would like to choose, I’d recommend picking 7-8 songs as guests arrive and 15 songs per hour for the drink’s reception or wedding breakfast.

Aisle Song

For the aisle entrance, I plan several versions of the song including repeats so that I can alter the length of the piece on the day. My usual format is to play the intro and then the chorus for a short aisle, for longer aisles, I will play the intro, verse and the chorus. Some people like to time their entrance with their party. If you'd like to do this, I'm happy to send a recording in advance to plan cues. If you have something different in mind, let me know.

Song Requests

As part of each package you have one complimentary new song. If you have a special song and can't see it on the list, just ask! Please note that not all genres are suited to the harp. Additional songs are £45 each.

Timescale

I’ll be in contact 6 weeks before the Wedding to ask for your song choices and if you have any requests. I need at least a month's notice for a song request, please be aware that I may not have time if you leave it too late.

Can I listen to the songs?

I have plenty of videos of harp covers and aisle entrances on my socials. Please note I don't have every song from my list on there. You can request one demo to be sent if it's for the aisle or it's a new arrangement.

Frequently Asked Questions

The harp can be the perfect addition to any wedding ceremony, drink's reception or wedding breakfast. Its rich sound creates a beautiful ambience, immediately setting the scene.

I have an electro-acoustic harp with an amp, it looks and sounds the same as an acoustic harp, but the volume is louder. My amp is battery powered so I can be placed anywhere and can be heard over 100 guests. For bigger groups, I have more amplification available for an additional charge.

The harp requires a space of approximately 2m x 2m, think about where you would like me to be placed and let the venue know to allow space during their set up.

Concert pedal harps are over 6ft tall, weigh over 6st, and need a trolley to be moved around. I am comfortable moving my harp around a venue and can manage a few steps, however, not all venues are easily accessible and I may require assistance. In this circumstance, I will ask for help. If you would like me to be on the first floor or above, and there isn't a lift, or there's a tight/spiral staircase, make sure to let me know when enquiring.

Yes! I bring a mat and parasol with me to protect the harp and my equipment from the sun. Rain, wind and excessive sun can damage my harp and equipment. I will always try to accommodate outdoor weddings as best as I can, but in some circumstances it may not be safe to do so. Please consider this when booking.

I mostly play my own transcriptions of well-known pop music, along with some classical too. My full list is further up the page. A transcription is when someone writes out the music by ear. I like to transcribe songs myself to ensure I capture recognisable elements of the original song, but also make it sound idiomatic on the harp.

Take a look at my videos and recordings before booking to get a clear idea of what my transcriptions sound like. Not all songs work on the harp so if you’re worried, ask for a demo to be sent.

Yes, I have cover up to 10 million provided by the Incorporated Society of Musicians. My equipment and extensions are all PAT tested. I am not required to provide a certificate for my battery powered speaker as I will not be plugging it in.

Stephanie was just amazing from the point of booking up to our wedding day. She is a really professional, friendly and her communication was quick.

We've had so many compliments about how fantastic Stephanie was, and what a nice touch it was to have a Harpist.

Stephanie learnt the song we chose so quickly, and even sent recordings over and asked how you would like it played. She really does go above and beyond.

My only regret is not booking her for longer! I would truly recommend Stephanie to anyone, and you will not be disappointed if you book her.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Stephanie perform at our wedding ceremony at Pearson Park Conservatory, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment her harp began to play, the entire space was filled with a sense of calm & beauty.

Walking down the aisle to “The One” by Kodaline, played so delicately and soulfully by Stephanie, was a moment I will never forget. Her music carried every emotion we were feeling love, joy, and anticipation and wrapped them in a melody that felt like it was written just for us. She was also an absolute joy to work with, kind, professional, and very patient when i could not decide on the songs I wanted.

If you're looking to create a moment of pure magic on your wedding day, Stephanie is the harpist you’ve been dreaming of.

Stephanie was amazing from start to finish. She is a true professional, communication was super quick, nothing was too much for to ask and so lovely to top it off!

To be able to have one song that Stephanie learns for your day made it a no brainer for us to pick her. “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin is a part of our family, my grandads favourite song and even more precious to me as he sadly is no longer with us. I cannot express how magic and emotional that moment was for me to walk down the aisle to. Plus Stephanie recorded this and send it across which I will treasure forever!

Stephanie and her harp looked stunning at our venue and we received so many positive compliments on how amazing she was from our guests. Another special moment was Stephanie playing ‘Marching on Together’ to the majority of guests including us that are huge Leeds Fans… plus a few Disney songs was the perfect combination!

I would truly recommend Stephanie to anyone, she is a super talented person!
Thank you so much for being such a special part of our day.

Steph played at our wedding in May and was amazing! She is incredibly talented and we got so many compliments from our guests (and even our photographer!) She created the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony and outdoor drinks reception and we are so glad we booked her as she made our day extra special. The booking process was professional throughout and it was super easy to select our song choices. We loved following along on her social media so we could hear how the songs sounded on the harp and make our selections. If you're thinking of booking Steph, we highly recommend that you do!
